OC Interior Design: A New Trend in Vacations – the Staycation
Orange County, California, is a wonderful site for just staying at home, enjoying the fabulous views, the terrific weather, great outdoor cafes and all the amenities provided by this beautiful state.
We here, in Southern California are very lucky in respect to our weather and the beautiful scenery. We live in a resort! How lucky is that? No where else in the world can we have more. We have it all!
Think out of the box this year … try staying home instead of spending your money on an out-of-town vacation. Why not create a vacation-like atmosphere in the privacy of your own space? Something you will be able to enjoy for a long time — a staycation.
With all the wonderful possibilities available, entertaining can now be simple, fun and even inexpensive. If cooking is not your thing, consider having your dinner or luncheon catered. With all the choices of excellent caterers at your fingertips, this is definitely a hot option. Feeling a bit low? Call an esthetician or masseuse to give you a special treat in the privacy of your own home. Check out the local concerts, plays and take a stroll through the nearest bookstore. Relearn your community!
Instead of rushing around, trying to see everything possible in your precious one or two weeks of vacation, why not just stay home? Enjoy your relationships … your family, your friends. Take your time, and slow down a bit.
Children, friends and family members will also enjoy that “escape” atmosphere of your newly designed retreat. Frankly, they will probably consider asking your advice on how to create one of their own.
Remember how exhausted you were when you returned from your last vacation? Sometimes it hardly seems worth the effort and expense.
Why not check out the service of a professional interior designer for some terrific creative ideas? What would it be like to walk into your bath in the morning to find a resort-style spa instead of the boring tile, tired towels and tiny shower? And what if your living room were full of eclectic furnishings that invite you to relax or entertain at a whim?
The sky’s the limit. Use your imagination. What would you really like to do if you could? Think it through … consider making your home your vacation site.
